Apa itu Present Perfect Continuous Tense?
Present Perfect Continuous Tense merupakan tenses yang digunakan untuk membicarakan sesuatu yang dikerjakan di masa lampau dan sampai sekarang masih berlangsung.
Dengan kata lain, tenses ini dipakai untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang terjadi di masa lalu, namun masih ada kaitannya dengan masa sekarang. Contoh kalimatnya adalah:
- We have been painting the room since yesterday and we haven’t finished at all. (Kami mengecat ruangan sudah sejak kemarin, tapi sampai sekarang belum selesai)
- He has been working on this report since 7 o’clock this morning. (Dia mengerjakan laporan sejak pukul 7 pagi, dan masih mengerjakan laporan tersebut)
- I have been waiting for him for 3 hours. (Saya sudah menunggu dia selama 3 jam – dan saya masih menunggu sekarang)
Rumus Present Perfect Continuous Tense
Untuk Subject: I, You, We, They
S + have + been + verb-ing (kalimat positif)
S + have + not + been + verb-ing (kalimat negatif)
Have + s + been + verb-ing? (kalimat tanya)
Untuk Subject: He, She, It
S + has + been + verb-ing (kalimat positif)
S + has + not + been + verb-ing (kalimat negatif)
Has + s + been + verb-ing? (kalimat tanya)

Dalam Present Perfect Continuous, kata keterangan yang biasa dipakai adalah since, for, dan sebagainya
Ada beberapa verb (kata kerja) yang tidak biasa dipakai dalam Present Perfect Continuous Tense, yakni hate, want, know, hear, understand, dan sebagainya.
Biasanya, verb tersebut dipakai dalam Simple Present Perfect Tense. Contoh kalimatnya:
